Textgate
Apparently, Kris Allen, winner of American Idol did not actually win. Recent reports state that AT&T admitted having provided mobile phones and texting services to Allen's fans. They taught the Arkansas fans to "power-text" (send multiple texts at a time), which could have made a difference in the final results of American Idol.
People are calling this scandal, "textgate". Glambert's have furiously protested against textgate and have demanded a recount of the votes and for the exact results to be published.
Bobby Kierna, one of the guests of one of the various Allen parties around Arkansas, admitted having voted for Allen 10,840 times, thanks to the special service of AT&T.
The company apologized for the scandal, and admitted that that their "employees had let themselves get carried away by the excitement of the TV show".
