Adam Lambert talks to Parade.com

Lambert took some time out of his busy schedule to talk to Parade.com about the pressure he feels from the gay community and addressed the rumors surrounding a collaboration with Lady Gaga's hit-making producer, RedOne.

Dealing with his newfound fame.
"It's difficult. I'm not used to it. I'm still kind of working on finding that balance. I want to find it. I think because I'm so busy and really focused in on rehearsing for the tour and preparing for the album, that's definitely my priority right now. That helps me get past the crazy publicity."

Being a voice in the gay community.
"[I do feel the pressure] a little bit, just by default. Honestly, I'm so wrapped up in the process of creating music that I don't really have the energy to go there right now. Who knows what the future may hold, but I'm an entertainer and that's what I want to put my energy into right now."

On comments made by Perez Hilton about keeping his sexuality unconfirmed.
"I heard a little bit about it. I think he might have a crush on me. That's what it feels like...I don't have a crush on him!"

Any Hollywood crushes of his own?
"I don't know if there's actually that many celebrities that play for my team that are open about it. I have a ton of celebrity crushes but I'm not going to tell you! Maybe you should ask someone that question about me."

Rubbing elbows with the stars.
"I've met a lot of people that I look up to, artists that I respect. That's been crazy. Just last night I met Usher, Enrique Iglesias and My Chemical Romance at the studio. I've just been meeting these artists and they know who I am now because of the show and Rolling Stone and all that, so it's weird that they're like 'Hey, Adam!' and I'm like 'What?!' It's just weird to be on the same page as them, so to speak."

Meeting his own American idol.
"I met Madonna and that was pretty wild. Most everybody I've met is pretty cool and on the level, but Madonna is just legendary. I was definitely the most starstruck with her. I've been a fan of hers since I was a kid. So that's definitely part of the intimidation factor."

Rumors that he's working with Lady Gaga's producer, RedOne.
"I can say that is true. We have been writing the past couple days and I think we're going to come out with some amazing tunes. I'm going to have my own sound but I do love Lady Gaga. I'm a huge fan."

Preparing for his debut album.
"I have been doing a lot of writing, actually. It's been really exciting. I think something that people can expect from the album is that, lyrically, everything that I'm singing about is true to my life. That's important to me, its something I can connect to personally. I think this is the album that's going to be fun and exciting and sexy and also going to have positive hopeful messages."

Saying goodbye to glam?
"I like my signature eye makeup thing. It's kinda my look, it's my vibe. It's different and glamorous. But I don't really like one look over any others. I like changing it up. I mean, who knows? In a couple months I might get sick of wearing eyeliner. Anything can happen!"

Gearing up for his first big purchase.
"I think I'm going to buy a house. It's a little ways off. I'll probably wait until the end of the year. That's exciting to me, to have a home."

On his headline-making Rolling Stone cover.
"This whole experience is liberating and validating at the same time. It's really allowing me to be the artist I've always wanted to be. This experience has opened up so many doors and connected me with so many amazing, talented, reputable producers and writers. That's liberation right there."

Reuniting with the Top 10 Idols for their summer tour.
I missed a lot of them so much. We've built quite a bond during the process of the show. Once we hit the road we'll have more time to spend with each other.

Advice for American Idol's Season 9 contestants.
"Go with your gut instincts. Find a song and a look that makes you stand apart that's true to you, and don't be afraid to take risks."
