AT&T Idol chat with Adam Lambert

Question from Songandlyric: You seem like such a gracious person, how upset were you that you didn’t get the American Idol title?
Adam Answers: I was not upset at all. I was really happy to be performing on the finale and happy for Kris, because he is my friend. I feel like being a finalist was winning.

Question from Dottie1: What is your vision for yourself in the next year after Idol tour?
Adam Answers: I really want to work on an amazing album. While on the tour, I plan to be working on songs and collaborating. I am interested in all forms of entertainment, but my first priority is music.

Question from TommyT: Adam, what was the strangest that that happened to you while participating in American Idol?
Adam Answers: Just all of the fans, seeing them get overly excited. For example the streaker in San Diego, it was so funny to me.

Question from EllenF: Is your eyeliner permanent? If not, what brand of eyeliner is your favorite?
Adam Answers: No, it is not permanent. That would be too much for me. I use a Max Factor smolder, which is black.

Question from JacksonBliss: Adam, considering how versatile your voice is, will it be tough picking one genre for a future album? Or will you do a little of everything?
Adam Answers: I am going to do a little of everything. I think just one genre would be boring. For me it is not really about the genre, it is about the singing.

Question from T23: Were the boots that you wore while performing with kiss comfortable? Lol cuz they didn't look like it.
Adam Answers: They actually are comfortable, believe it or not, because they do not have a heel. They are really light weight and easy to walk in. They are fun.

Question from kryskay: Adam! You are extremely talented, my favorite this season!!!! You will be iconic, who would you say helped you the most in becoming who you are?
Adam Answers: I had a teacher that was in the audience last night, Lynne Broyles. She was my first voice teacher and helped me to express my art. She created a safe environment and made it okay to be me.

Question from bano: I absolutely adore you and think you are incredible! How did it feel when Katy Perry came out wearing your name on her cape? Did you know she was gonna do that?
Adam Answers: No, I did not know. I was shocked and so flattered, my mouth dropped open and I thought “No Way”! I thought to myself that if I went home that night, it would have been just fine. I am a huge fan of Katy.

Question from laurenwink: With all the seasons of American Idol that have transpired, why did u choose to audition this year and not before?
Adam Answers: I did not think that I was ready until this year. Previously, I was in a band and did musical theater. This year I needed a change and the timing was right.

Question from Kevnosity: How do you feel about the tabloids exploiting your personal life?
Adam Answers: It comes with the territory and there really is not anything I can do about it. I am really confident about who I am and I do not let it bother me.

Question from MeggLizz: Adam, I love you sooo much!! You are amazing!! What singer/band do you get the most inspiration from, or is it all just plain Adam?
Adam Answers: It is a little bit of both. A lot of what I do is just go with my gut. But I love music and take things in through osmosis. I was lucky to be able to perform music by some of my favorite on the show. Robert Plant, Jeff Buckley, Muse, Michael Jackson are some of my inspirations.

Question from piney: Hey, Adam. You always dressed to impress. What was your favorite outfit that you wore?
Adam Answers: I really liked my outfit for “Whole lotta love” by Led Zeppelin. There is a company skingraft and the designers are friends of mine, they did that jacket and several other that I have been wearing. Including the black leather jacket I wore in the photo shoots. I love clothing so much and it is really rewarding to be able to feature the work of my friends.

Question: What did Kris say to you at the end of “We are the champions”?h
Answer: It was a really special moment for us. I think he said that it was awesome and I said it was an honor to be performing with him. For us it was really not a competition against each other, instead it was a chance to be our best each week.

Question from JustAndee: Adam, your amazing and are my american idol! Whats the greatest life lesson you will take from this experience?
Adam Answers: For me it is about the power of positive thought. I never hesitated to help of support the other contestant, and that made it very rewarding. The more you help each others, the more you will get in return. This experience has confirmed my belief system and I will continue to live my life that way.

ChatHost: Adam thank you so much for your time. Are there any last words for your fans?
Adam Answers: I just want to thank everyone for embracing something different. I am not your average contestant and it took a lot of courage for people to believe in me. And the courage from the fans fed my courage. I hope everyone is ready for the next stage in which I will become an original artist. Also, I hope people can continue to realize the joy that can be found by being unique and different.
